The Bannock County Event Center is situated on approximately 80 acres overlooking the cities of Pocatello & Chubbuck, and surrounding areas. It is dedicated to promoting health and wellness, in addition to providing multipurpose facilities for public use. The Event Center provides leisure and recreational amenities and promotes a family atmosphere available to everyone. Amenities offered at the Event Center include five arenas with various features, buildings and barns available for community use, nightly and monthly rentable stalls for livestock, and a year round RV Park.
In September 2015 the Portneuf Health Trust donated the state-of-the-art facility known as the Portneuf Wellness Complex to Bannock County. The complex is located at the north end of the Bannock County Event Center and enhances the public recreational opportunities available to the public. The complex includes eleven full size multi-use sports fields, a championship field, two basketball courts and sand volleyball courts. It also includes an amphitheater that seats over 11,000, a six-acre lake with a swimming beach and IDFG stocked fishing. The complex is looped by a bike/walking path a mountain bike park.
The Bannock County Fairgrounds, located in Downey, Idaho, are the location of the annual Bannock County Fair. The fairgrounds contain two community use arenas; a community use covered-pavilion; exhibit buildings; and barns for horses, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, and rabbits. The fairgrounds are the perfect setting for young and old alike to enjoy the ambiance of an old-fashioned fair
